Non-profit organizations seeking grants are urged to submit applications by June 1, 2009…Each year, the Foundation provides over $50,000 in grant money to organizations in the West Central Florida region
The Glazer Family Foundation was founded in 1999 to assist charitable and educational causes in the West Central Florida region. Since its launch, the Foundation has donated millions of dollars in grants, tickets and merchandise throughout the Tampa Bay area in an effort to create positive social and economic development within the community.
That mission is ongoing, and there are currently several opportunities for charitable organizations to become involved in Foundation initiatives.
Each year, the Foundation provides over $50,000 in grant money to nonprofit organizations. The grants are awarded in the summer and fall after recipient organizations are selected from an application process. The Foundation is currently accepting applications for the summer cycle, which will culminate in grants being awarded during the Buccaneers' training camp at One Buccaneer Place.
In 2008, a total of 11 nonprofit organizations received grants through the bi-annual program. Below is a list of organizations that received grants in 2008:
- Blossom Montessori School for the Deaf * Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota County * Community Action Stops Abuse * Dawn Center * Excelsior Education & Training Foundation * Hemophilia Foundation of Greater Florida * Pinellas Association for Retarded Children * Plant City Children's Theatre * Special Kids Dance & Performing Arts * Sydney's Angels for Autism, Inc. * Tampa Bay Academy of Hope
