Applications are now being accepted for the 2025 Tampa Bay Buccaneers National Coaching Academy. The Academy, which debuted last offseason, was established to create new pathways for coaches seeking the opportunity to work in the National Football League.
In its inaugural year, the Academy attracted over 1,500 applicants from across the globe, with 25 finalists eventually spending a week in Tampa this past May. Finalists received valuable classroom and on-field experience working with the Buccaneers coaching staff during the team's rookie minicamp. Throughout the week, finalists also participated in masterclass sessions led by Head Coach Todd Bowles, general manager Jason Licht, legendary former head coach Bruce Arians, and Pro Football Hall of Famers Tony Dungy and Rondé Barber, as well as NFL and Buccaneers executives.
"The debut of the Buccaneers National Coaching Academy this past offseason exceeded all of my expectations," said Buccaneers Head Coach Todd Bowles. "The opportunity to work closely with these aspiring coaches in the classroom and on the field throughout the week was an extremely rewarding experience for me and our entire staff. I was very impressed by the quality of the talent pool and the passion displayed by our 25 finalists. I look forward to building off that success and assisting this next group of coaches to chase their NFL dreams."
The Buccaneers National Coaching Academy is open to all persons with three or more years of coaching or work experience in a football program at the high school, college or semi-professional league level, irrespective of background or status. Twenty-five finalists will be selected and awarded full scholarships to cover costs while in Tampa for the weeklong Academy.
Similar to last season, following the completion of the Academy, five participants will be selected to transition into the NFL's Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship for training camp and preseason. Created in 1987, the Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship was designed to open pathways for minority coaches into the league.
Applications for the 2025 class are open from Oct. 30, 2024 – Dec. 31, 2024, with a rolling admissions program. Applicants are encouraged to apply early. More information can be found HERE.
