Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Bucky Irving is in the midst of an impressive rookie season, and now he has his first bit of NFL hardware to celebrate it.

On Wednesday, Irving was named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week for Week 13 on the heels of a season-best performance in Tampa Bay's 26-23 overtime win over the Carolina Panthers. Irving rang up 152 rushing yards and 185 yards from scrimmage in the game, both the highest totals among all NFC players in Week 13.

Tucker is the first rookie to win a Player of the Week award for the Buccaneers since punter Jake Camarda in Week Nine of the 2022 campaign. He is the first Buccaneer to win an Offensive Player of the Week award since in the final week of the 2017 regular season.

Irving powered the Buccaneer to their comeback win in Charlotte on Sunday. He tallied 109 of his yards from scrimmage in the fourth quarter and scored a go-ahead touchdown on a seven-yard run with nine minutes left in regulation. He ripped off a 43-yard run on the Bucs' next possession to set up a Chase McLaughlin field goal that gave Tampa Bay a four-point lead with three minutes left. Irving's total yardage and 97 rushing yards were the most by any NFL player in the fourth quarter in Week 13. He did all of that after suffering a hip injury returning a kickoff on the final play of the first half.

Irving currently leads all NFL rookies in both rushing yards (732) and yards from scrimmage (1,017). He is averaging 5.5 yards per carry and leads the Buccaneers with six rushing touchdowns.
