Baker Mayfield joined elite company in Tampa Bay Buccaneers annals on Sunday. With his 2-yard scoring strike to Mike Evans in the first quarter against the Carolina Panthers at Bank of America Stadium, Mayfield became just the second quarterback in franchise history to record consecutive seasons with 25-plus passing touchdowns. The first was Tom Brady, who did it for three straight campaigns from 2020-22.

Between them, Brady and Mayfield have now produced five straight seasons of 25 or more touchdown passes for the Buccaneers. Prior to 2020, the franchise had just five such seasons – two non-consecutives one by Jameis Winston (2016, 2019), two non-consecutive ones by Josh Freeman (2010, 2012) and one by Brad Johnson (2003).

Mayfield set a career high with 28 touchdown passes last year in his first season with the Buccaneers. This is his fourth season with 25 or more scoring passes, as he had 27 with the Cleveland Browns in 2018 and another 26 in 2020.

Entering Week 13, Mayfield ranked third in the NFL in touchdown passes, third in completion percentage (71.4%), third in completions (267) and sixth in passer rating (104.1).
