This Sunday, while the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are in that other Bay area preparing for a key road contest against the Oakland Raiders, Raymond James Stadium will be busy with its own special event back in Tampa: the Central Florida Military Resource Fair.
All veterans, active-duty military and troops returning from service overseas are invited to attend the fair, which is being hosted by the Buccaneers in coordination with local VA Medical Centers. Military service members will have the opportunity to learn about employment opportunities, VA benefits, health care availability and more in an exclusive setting.
Entry into the resource fair, which will run from 12:00-4:00 pm ET in the East Club at Raymond James Stadium, is free, and it will include a job fair with Federal, State and local employers, as well as interview-skill development and resume assistance. On-site VA benefits and health care enrollment will also be available, as will accommodations for flu shots and medical screenings.
"The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are proud to work with our Veteran Medical Centers to support those who serve our country," said Buccaneers General Manager Mark Dominik, who focuses much of his community outreach on military issues. "We realize the great sacrifices our military continue to make for us, and hope this event will provide some assistance to local service members who are so greatly deserving of our community's support."
Resource Fair attendees will also have the opportunity to meet Buccaneers alumni and Buccaneers cheerleaders, who will be available for autograph and photo opportunities. Upon entry, the first 2,000 servicemen and women in attendance will be provided with a $10 gift certificate towards concessions. Throughout the afternoon, concessions will be half price for all guests.
Immediately following the Resource Fair, the Buccaneers' 4:05 pm matchup vs. the Raiders will be televised live on the East Club's giant video walls at Raymond James Stadium.
All attendees are asked to bring a copy of their resume, as well as a Military ID or DD214 to validate military affiliation.
