This October, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the NFL will support National Breast Cancer Awareness Month in an effort to raise funds and awareness to combat this deadly disease. In recognition of this cause, the Buccaneers will give one fan's family or friends an opportunity they will never forget.
The Buccaneers are searching for inspirational stories of breast cancer survival from individuals in the community, and the team is asking all of those who are willing to "Join the Fight" against breast cancer.
On October 14, when the Buccaneers host the Kansas City Chiefs, one fan's story will be featured as part of the team's breast cancer awareness commemoration at Raymond James Stadium. That afternoon, the nominee will be named an honorary captain and accompany the Buccaneers on the field for the opening coin toss.
The nominee and three family guests will then experience the game as true VIPs in one of the Buccaneers' luxury suites.
To share a story of inspiration, click here or visit www.buccaneers.com/BCAstory and complete the online form. Tell us your story about a friend or family member who is currently battling or has survived breast cancer. Submissions will be reviewed by a panel of leading oncologists and Tampa Bay Buccaneers representatives. All applications must be submitted by Friday, September 28.
The Buccaneers "Join the Fight" sweepstakes proudly supports the players, coaches, and NFL personnel who work each year to fight breast cancer. The NFL's campaign, "A Crucial Catch", in partnership with the American Cancer Society, promotes the importance of annual screenings, especially for women who are 40 and older.
Throughout October, NFL games will feature players, coaches and referees wearing pink game apparel, on-field pink ribbon stencils, special game balls and pink coins - all to help raise awareness for this important campaign. All apparel worn at games by players and coaches, along with special game balls and pink coins will be auctioned off at NFL Auction (www.NFL.com/auction), with proceeds benefitting the American Cancer Society and team charities. This is an issue that has directly touched the lives of so many in the NFL family, and the Buccaneers are committed to helping make a difference in breast cancer prevention.
