Student Advisory Board members work alongside Buccaneers players, coaches and staffs at community events
During the 1999 offseason, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Community Relations Department formed the inaugural Student Advisory Board (SAB). With an annually-changing cast of dedicated members, the SAB remains an integral part of the Buccaneers' community outreach efforts to this day.
The Buccaneers created this council, comprised of high school sophomores, juniors and seniors, in an effort to bring together intelligent, energetic and motivated students to perform community service projects, create Buccaneer spirit in their schools and develop leadership skills in preparation for continuing education.
All SAB members also attend each Buccaneer home games either as team representatives or enthusiastic fans. At each game, half of the council members work as customer service representatives in the East and West Club Lounges of Raymond James Stadium, while the rest of the members enjoy the opportunity to relax and be fans for the day.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are currently looking for members for their 2005-2006 Student Advisory Board. The 2004-2005 SAB completed its term in early May, and the Buccaneers are searching for the next group of enthusiastic young men and women to form the new council.
During their respective one-year terms, Board members have the opportunity to tour Raymond James Stadium, learn from important guest speakers at monthly meetings and participate in Buccaneers charitable events.
The 2005-06 Student Advisory Board will be composed of 40 high school students who are entering their sophomore, junior or senior years in Hillsborough, Pinellas, Manatee, Orange, Pasco and Polk counties.
