On Thursday, May 25, at 6:00 p.m., the Glazer Family Foundation and Tampa Bay Buccaneers will host the third annual General H Norman Schwarzkopf Military Family of the Year Awards, an event presented in coordination with the Central Florida USO to honor active-duty service members and their families from each branch of the military (Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines, Navy, National Guard/Reserves). The award presentation will take place at a special event at the team's headquarters, One Buccaneer Place, and include remarks from Glazer Family Foundation Co-President Darcie Glazer Kassewitz, Buccaneers Chief Operating Officer Brian Ford, and Buccaneers defensive tackle Clinton McDonald, a 2016 USAA Salute to Service Award nominee and active supporter of the military community.
Honorees were nominated on Buccaneers.com and selected for demonstrating the values of integrity, courage, commitment and service before self while sharing in the sacrifices of service to our country. Each family will receive a commemorative trophy, collectors coin and a special surprise from Lazydays RV, an official sponsor of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Glazer Family Foundation and the Buccaneers have a long, proud history of supporting the men and women who served or continue to serve our country. Every August, the team hosts a special "military day" at training camp where service members enjoy an exclusive experience at practice. During each home game, together with Central Florida USO, the Buccaneers celebrate a Hero of the Game, as well as invite servicemen and servicewomen to cheer on the team from the exclusive Tampa Bay Buccaneers Salute to Service Suite.
