The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have brought back defensive lineman Earnest Brown and linebacker Antonio Grier, two young defenders they waived last Saturday in order to open roster spots for the return of Jordan Whitehead and Kameron Johnson from injured reserve. Both Brown and Grier were signed to Tampa Bay's practice squad on Tuesday.
The Buccaneers had one open spot on their 17-man practice squad after Saturday's promotion of punter Jack Browning to the active roster. They created another one on Tuesday by placing rookie outside linebacker Daniel Grzesiak on the practice squad injured reserve list.
Brown started the season on the Bucs' injured reserve list after sustaining a ribs injury in practice just three days before the opener. He returned to the active roster on October 21 and has since appeared in six games, logging 21 defensive snaps. A fifth-round draft pick by the Rams in 2021, he previously played in 12 games with three starts for Los Angeles, contributing 16 tackles, one for a loss.
Grier signed with the Buccaneers in May as an undrafted free agent out of Arkansas and started the season on the team's practice squad. He subsequently had two separate stints on Tampa Bay's active roster, appearing in seven games, primarily on special teams. He has one kick coverage tackle in 2024.
Grzesiak was also an undrafted signee in May after playing his college ball at Cincinnati. He has been on the practice squad for the entire 2024 campaign.
