Bucs Bring Back CB Bryce Hall

Bryce Hall's first season in Tampa ended after just one game but he's returning on a new deal to once again compete for a significant role in the Bucs' secondary

Bryce Hall is getting a second chance to make a first impression with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

On Wednesday, Hall agreed to terms on a new one-year contract with the Buccaneers, just as he did a year ago. The former New York Jet was expected to be the team's primary third cornerback alongside starters Jamel Dean and Zyon McCollum, and in fact Hall was the first one in after McCollum suffered a concussion in the season opener. However, just 11 snaps into his first regular-season game with the Buccaneers, Hall sustained a dislocated ankle and was lost for the remainder of the season.

Hall could once again be in line for a major role in the Buccaneers' defense in 2025. He brings plenty of NFL experience, having played in 39 games with 26 starts for the Jets, who drafted him in the fifth round in 2020. Though his final two seasons in New York were marred by injuries, he started all 17 contests in 2021 and recorded 79 tackles and 16 passes defensed, tying for sixth in the NFL in that latter category.

Overall, the former Virginia standout has played in 40 games and amassed 122 tackles, two interceptions, 21 passes defensed, one forced fumble, five tackles for loss and 0.5 sacks. He is one of two moves the Buccaneers have made in the secondary since the start of free agency, as they also signed former Detroit Lions cornerback Kindle Vildor last week.
