In the spring of 2010, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will launch an entirely brand new official web site, with a fresh look and attitude backed up by the same commitment to total team coverage you've come to expect from Buccaneers.com.
So why the new, enhanced look for Buccaneers.com now, with next year's change just around the corner? Because progress can't wait.
Plus, a highly-anticipated season deserves a web site that reflects that excitement.
On Wednesday, the Buccaneers relaunched their official web site with a refreshed graphical design, highlighted by a larger high-definition media player anchoring the home page. This player continues to bring you frequently updated news stories — such as this one — while seamlessly integrating video and written content. You'll still get our wall-to-wall team reporting and ever-expanding video elements — including such popular series as Insider and Behind the Flag — but now you'll get it bigger and bolder.
The newly-enhanced Buccaneers.com also brings you a collection of new features, from social networking opportunities like Facebook and Twitter to a new Ticketing site to an information-packed training camp page.
Already a Twitter and Facebook veteran? Then you'll know just what to do when you click on our Get Connected page. If you're new to these types of social networking, you'll find it very easy to get started, and instantly rewarding. Twitter and Facebook are two of the newest ways in which the Buccaneers are getting information directly from the team to the fans, with no middle man.
The enhanced Buccaneers.com also brings something else directly to the fans: A huge collection of new wallpapers for your desk top. Take a second to visit our Wallpapers page and you'll find just shy of 100 new wallpapers to choose from. You can put a stylized version of the Bucs' 2009 schedule on your desktop for easy reference, or choose from myriad designs centered around Buccaneer players, team logos, draft-day images, Raymond James Stadium and more. There is also a spinning-flag screensaver to grab, and easy instructions for downloading all of these items on different platforms.
The state-of-the-art Ticketing interface makes the many new purchasing opportunities extremely easy to review and put to use. Whether you're looking for season tickets — with new options such as half-season packages and youth pricing — or single-game tickets, group sales or club seats, all the information you need is right at your fingertips.
And, of course, training camp is right around the corner. Luckily, our enhanced site was launched in time to bring you all the information you need to connect with the Buccaneers when they hold camp right here in Tampa at One Buccaneer Place. Our information-heavy Training Camp page brings you a daily practice schedule; a map of the grounds showing parking areas, entrance spots and bleacher locations; and information on how to get advanced practice tickets by joining the One Buc Club. All training camp practices are free and open to the fans, so you can join us for our season preparations by utilizing the information on our Camp page.
And things will only get better here at Buccaneers.com. Next year's relaunch will redefine the way in which Buccaneer fans interact with their team. The new Buccaneers.com will have easier navigation, an even better HD media player, more videos and even more intense written coverage of the team.
So enjoy the enhanced Buccaneers.com. We think it's the best Buccaneers website yet…and we've only just begun.
