David Walker
1. The Buccaneers selected David Walker with the 121st overall pick in the fourth round. Walker, a three-time Consensus All-American, collected 82.5 tackles for loss and 39 sacks over the previous four seasons at Central Arkansas. Walker won the 2024 Buck Buchanan Award as the top FCS defensive player and conference defensive player of the year for three-consecutive years.
2. After transferring to Central Arkansas, Walker became one of the most productive defenders in FCS history. He wreaked havoc, making 33.8 percent of his career tackles in the backfield. Walker has the burst to infiltrate gaps and the leverage to get underneath blockers. He spent more time dropping in 2024 – something he will be asked to do in Todd Bowles' defense – spending 17 percent of his snaps on passing downs. Walker was voted a 2024 team captain and was touted for his leadership skills and humble attitude.
Elijah Roberts
3. Elijah Roberts thrived with the Mustangs and totaled 131 pressures over the previous two seasons – number one in the FBS over that span. He maximizes his brute strength and led SMU in sacks in 2023 with 10.0 and again in 2024 with 7.5.
4. Roberts became one of the most disruptive interior defenders and won from a variety of alignments. He lined up primarily as an edge rusher for the Mustangs and used his strength and long arms to command the point of attack. With an effective speed-to-power conversion, Roberts set the tone. He became a team captain in 2024 and had consistent backfield production with 11.0 tackles for loss in 2024 and 12.5 in 2023. Roberts quickly diagnoses blocking schemes and can be a player for Todd Bowles to weaponize from the B and C-gap.
Tez Johnson
5. Tez Johnson finished top-five in Oregon annals in career catches (169), despite only playing two seasons in Eugene and playing with two different quarterbacks. He is a weapon before and after the catch, ranking No.2 in the FBS with 35 catches behind the line of scrimmage in 2024. Johnson is explosive in the open field and is lethal on screens and shallow routes. He averaged 8.9 yards per punt return in college and showcases physicality over the middle of the field. He can stick his foot in the ground and accelerate on a dime. Johnson with reunite with former Oregon teammate and good friend Bucky Irving in Tampa Bay. He has the most YAC yards gained in college football since 2023 with 1,353.
