NFL Bloodlines

  1. Benjamin Morrison's father, Darryl Morrison, played safety and was drafted in the 1993 NFL Draft and played four seasons for Washington. In 1993, Darryl played with Todd Bowles, and Bowles will now coach his son in the NFL. Darryl became a pastor after his retirement and later founded Valley Gate Church.

Football Origin

  1. Benjamin Morrison followed in his father's footsteps and learned the game from his father's former teammate and friend, Pro Football Hall of Famer, Darrell Green.

Recruiting Cycle

  1. Banjamin Morrison, a four-star recruit, was the 35th ranked cornerback in the 2022 recruiting class and the No.5 recruit in Arizona. Morrison developed a relationship with Irish defensive backs coach Mike Mickens and head coach Marcus Freeman and was drawn to Notre Dame.

Skillset

  1. A three-year starter at Notre Dame, Morrison primarily lined up as an outside cornerback in the Fighting Irish's 4-2-5 base scheme, moving inside to the slot on occasion. Morrison has experience playing a variety of coverages and plays with balance and a quick downhill trigger from off to jump routes. Morrison made a smooth transition to Notre Dame's use of press-man and disrupts the catch point. He is effective as a blitzer off the edge and makes plays on the ball with effective mirror skills.

Sensational Freshman Campaign

  1. Morrison was named a freshman All-American by On3, College Football News, Pro Football Focus, The Athletic and 247Sports. He led the team with six interceptions and tied for seventh nationally with that mark. Those six interceptions are the most for an Irish defender since 2012 when Manti Te'o recorded seven as he went on to finish second in the Heisman trophy voting. Morrison was named the Walter Camp Defensive Player of the Week after his performance against Clemson. He concluded the season with 33 tackles and 22 solo.
