Early Years

  1. Jacob Parrish wrestled and played basketball throughout childhood and his prior experience wrestling manifested in his physicality as a defensive back and the leverage battle.

North Olathe High

  1. Jacob Parrish enrolled at North Olathe High and finished his prep career with 3,840 all-purpose yards and a school-record 1,313 receiving yards. Parrish lettered in basketball and ran track. During his senior year, Parrish won the 6A State Championship in the 100 meters and 200.

Recruiting

  1. A three-star recruit, Parrish was the 144th-ranked athlete in the 2022 recruiting class and the No.12 recruit in Kansas. He made the transition to cornerback after arriving in Manhattan.

Skillset

  1. In 2024, Parrish led Kansas State in interceptions and passes defensed. His speed is displayed on the field and he possesses outstanding change-of-direction skills. Parrish has controlled footwork at the top of routes to stay with receivers and uses a variety of maneuvers to disrupt vertical threats downfield. In press, he is physical with his hands to reroute receivers off the jam and is a stout open-field tackler. Parrish has experience playing in the slot and outside, serving as the left cornerback and moving inside to the slot on third-down packages. He plays with a competitive disposition and has fluid movement skills.

Position Switch

  1. In high school, Parrish played running back and safety and has played cornerback for only the previous three years. He showed development each season and had effective coverage against Travis Hunter in 2024.
