Talib Suspended by NFL for One Game

CB Aqib Talib has been suspended for the Buccaneers’ regular-season opener against Cleveland on Sept. 12 for violating the NFL Personal Conduct Policy

Statement by an NFL Spokesperson:

 Aqib Talib of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers has been suspended without pay for the team's first regular-season game of the 2010 season and fined one additional game check for violating the NFL Personal Conduct Policy.

Talib's suspension begins on Saturday, September 4.  He will be eligible to return to the Buccaneers' active roster on Monday, September 13 following the team's September 12 game against the Cleveland Browns.

Talib is eligible to participate in the team's remaining preseason practices and game.

Statement by Buccaneers General Manager Mark Dominik:

 Since last fall, Aqib has done all that's been asked of him and more, on and especially off the field.  We look forward to his return to the field in Week 2.
