The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are moving on from the punter they drafted in 2022, as they waived Jake Camarda on Tuesday. There was no corresponding move announced, so the Buccaneers currently have two open spots on their 53-man roster. A series of moves on Monday afternoon had opened up the other spot.

The Buccaneers had already made Camarda inactive for three of their last four games, choosing instead to elevate punter Trenton Gill from the practice squad. However, Gill is now out of elevation options and could only continue in that role if he is signed to the 53-man roster.

The Buccaneers selected Camarda out of Georgia in the fifth round in 2022. He played in all 34 games over his first two seasons, and with 2024 included punted 169 times for 8,302 yards, with a gross average of 49.1 yards per punt and a net average of 40.9. This season, Camarda punted 13 times with a gross average of 45.3, a net of 36.5 and five punts downed inside the 20.
