The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Atlanta Falcons named their game-day inactives on Sunday at 11:30 p.m. ET, 90 minutes before kickoff of their Week 17 game at Raymond James Stadium. NFL teams are required to reduce their active rosters to 46 players for each regular-season game.
The season will end a game early for wide receiver DeSean Jackson and DE Carl Nassib, two Buccaneer starters who were declared inactive for the season finale due to injuries. Jackson returned last week from a three-week absence due to a thumb injury but then sustained an Achilles injury in Dallas. Nassib suffered a shoulder injury in the same game and is inactive for the first time this season. Both players were listed a "doubtful" on Friday's injury report so their status on Sunday was no surprise.
There were also two players listed as questionable for the final against Atlanta – linebacker Devante Bond and defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul – but both were cleared to play.
One notable name not on the Bucs' list of inactives is quarterback Ryan Griffin. For the second week in a row, Griffin will be the active backup quarterback to Jameis Winston, leaving open the possibility that he will see his first NFL regular-season action.
The Falcons have just one player out due to injury: guard Wes Schweitzer. Schweitzer has been Atlanta's starting right guard since Andy Levitre landed on injured reserve in September.
