The Tampa Bay Buccaneers ruled out five players for their Week 14 game against the Las Vegas Raiders on Friday and Saturday. They notably did not give a game-status designation to left tackle Tristan Wirfs nor wide receiver Mike Evans, both of whom were limited in practice this week. In the middle was rookie running back Bucky Irving, who only practiced in a limited fashion on Friday and was listed as questionable for Sunday's game.
Irving has been cleared to play. The NFL's leader among rookies in both rushing yards and yards from scrimmage, Irving is active for Week 14 after winning NFC Offensive Player of the Week honors in Week 13 for his performance in an overtime win over the Carolina Panthers.
In addition, rookie safety Tykee Smith will return to action after missing the last three games with a knee injury. He was also considered questionable to play on Sunday but will give the Bucs' secondary a much-needed boost after injuries to Jordan Whitehead, Troy Hill and Josh Hayes.
The Buccaneers and Raiders submitted their list of inactives at 11:30 a.m. ET on Sunday, 90 minutes before the scheduled kickoff of their Week 14 game at Raymond James Stadium. After elevating punter Jack Browning and cornerback Dallis Flowers from the practice squad on Saturday, the Buccaneers had 55 available players and thus had to name seven inactives to get down to the game-day limit of 48.
