QB Chris Simms was one of several players on hand to mingle with fans and sign autographs
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are in the midst of a three-game road swing, but their home stadium remains a prime location for having fun and taking care of business.
Last Thursday, approximately 1,000 fans of the team packed the West Club Lounge at Raymond James Stadium for the Bucs Business League event sponsored by Verizon Wireless and BB&T, two Buccaneer Pewter Partners.
With their team spending its December Sundays in such locales as Baton Rouge, Charlotte and Foxboro, fans relished the opportunity to gather at the stadium and relish this year's exciting playoff race. As a bonus, they were treated to giveaway items from the events' sponsors as well as a close-up look at some of the latest technology in the communication industry.
Guests at the Bucs Business League event had a chance to mingle with Buccaneers Chris Simms, Shelton Quarles and Josh Bidwell, get autographs from the players and collect signed photos from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Cheerleaders. Simms, Quarles and Bidwell also answered questions for the crowd on the playoff race. T.J. Rives of the Buccaneer Radio Network, the event's emcee, handled the player interviews and kept the guests occupied with jokes and Buccaneer chants.
Verizon Wireless and BB&T also organized a variety of activities for the fans, many of them involving giveaway items. Verizon Wireless hosted data seminars to get Bucs fans up to speed on the latest technology available. Raffle prize drawings were held throughout the evening featuring Buccaneer tickets and signed merchandise, Verizon Wireless phones, BB&T bounty gift bags and even a new television to watch the Bucs in high-definition.
"It was a great event and an opportunity to get in front of potential customers to discuss Verizon Wireless air cards, V-Cast and the strength of the EVDO network," said Jay Collins, Program Manager for Verizon Wireless.
"We were proud to host the Buccaneers Business League special event on December 6 with Verizon Wireless," added William R. Klich, BB&T Florida State and Regional President. "Attended by hundreds of fans, the festive event provided BB&T with an unparalleled opportunity to reach this attractive audience."
The Bucs will return to Raymond James Stadium on December 24 for two exciting home games to finish the stretch run, and their fans will be waiting to join in the excitement. In the meantime, Thursday's Bucs Business League event was the perfect chance for Buc fans to build team spirit, thanks to Verizon Wireless and BB&T.
