Former Buccaneer Gerald McCoy couldn’t be at his son’s senior night here in Tampa, so a few of his former Buccaneer teammates filled in.

"It's bigger than football." Those were the words written by former Buccaneer Gerald McCoy on his Instagram Friday night as he posted a video sent to him from his son Marcellus's senior night at Tampa Catholic.

The video shows a message from linebacker Lavonte David, left tackle Donovan Smith, quarterback Jameis Winston and wide receiver Mike Evans who showed up to support his son in McCoy's absence.

"We're here supporting you, supporting Marcellus," David said in the video. "We know you couldn't be here and I know this is a big one for you. We wanted to be here to represent for you, man, let you know that we love you. We always appreciate you, you always part of the family."

McCoy is in San Francisco as the Panthers get set to take on the 49ers. Meanwhile, the Buccaneers don't head off to Nashville to take on the Titans until later today. It just goes to show that football really is family, no matter what team you're on.
