The Tampa Bay Buccaneers today signed wide receiver John Brown to the team's practice squad and released running back Darwin Thompson from the practice squad.
Brown (5-11, 178) played in four games during the 2021 regular season, split between the Denver Broncos and Jacksonville Jaguars. The eighth-year veteran has played in 100 career NFL games, making 65 starts, recording 320 receptions for 4,748 yards (14.8 avg.) and 31 touchdowns. Brown entered the league as a third-round selection (No. 91 overall) by the Arizona Cardinals in the 2014 NFL Draft. He played four seasons with the Cardinals (2014-17) before playing one season in Baltimore (2018) and two seasons in Buffalo (2019-20). The Pittsburg State product is a native of Homestead, Florida, and will wear No. 89 for Tampa Bay.
