BUCCANEERS ELEVATE RUSSELL, SENAT FROM PRACTICE SQUAD

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers today elevated linebacker J.J. Russell and defensive tackle Deadrin Senat from the practice squad to the active roster for Monday night's game vs. Philadelphia. It marks the second elevation of the season for Russell and the first for Senat.

Russell (6-1, 225) has appeared in seven career games for the Buccaneers, including being elevated for Tampa Bay's Week 2 victory over Chicago. In his career, he has logged four tackles and two special teams tackles. The Grenada, Mississippi, native played collegiately at Memphis (2017-21), starting 50-of-61 games for the Tigers and compiling 306 tackles (24 for loss), eight passes defensed, 5.0 sacks, five forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, one interception and one blocked kick. He was named first-team All-AAC (American Athletic Conference) in 2021 after leading the AAC in solo tackles per game (6.5) and total tackles per game (10.2). Russell originally entered the league as a college free agent with the Buccaneers in May 2022. He wears No. 51 for Tampa Bay.

Senat (6-1, 305) originally entered the league as a third-round selection (No. 90 overall) by the Atlanta Falcons in the 2018 NFL Draft. Senat, who spent the 2022 season with Tampa Bay and was with the team during training camp, has appeared in 34 games between the Falcons and Buccaneers, making two starts, and recording 51 tackles (four for loss), six quarterback hits, 1.0 sack and one fumble recovery. The Immokalee, Florida, native played collegiately at the University of South Florida (2013-17), earning all-conference honors in his final two seasons with the Bulls. Senat wears No. 56 for the Buccaneers.
