BUCCANEERS ELEVATE BROWNING AND NEAL

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers today elevated punter Jack Browning and safety Ryan Neal from the practice squad for the club's Week 15 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers. It marks the second elevation of the season for Browning and the first for Neal.

Browning (5-11, 190) entered the league as a college free agent with the Buffalo Bills in 2024, spending time this past offseason with the Bills and Baltimore Ravens before joining Tampa Bay's practice squad on October 23. Browning made his NFL debut in Tampa Bay's Week 14 win over Las Vegas, punting three times for a 42.7 gross average. He began his collegiate career at Grossmont College (2019-20) prior to playing three seasons at San Diego State (2021-23). He handled both punting and kicking duties in his final two seasons and earned All-Mountain West honors twice, in addition to being named the 2022 Mountain West Special Teams Player of the Year. In 38 games for the Aztecs, Browning punted 122 times for 5,584 yards (45.8 average), while connecting on 35-of-47 field goal attempts (74.5%) and all 53 of his extra point attempts. The Lakeside, California, native wears No. 5 for Tampa Bay.

Neal (6-3, 200) was signed to Tampa Bay's practice squad on December 4, after appearing in 15 games for the Buccaneers in 2023 when he made 13 starts and recorded 75 tackles (four for loss). Since entering the league as a college free agent in 2018, he has appeared in 62 career games between the Atlanta Falcons, Seattle Seahawks and Buccaneers, totaling 223 tackles (13 for loss), 16 passes defensed, four quarterback hits, three interceptions, 2.0 sacks and two forced fumbles. The Merrillville, Indiana, native played collegiately at Southern Illinois. He was named honorable mention All-Missouri Valley Football Conference (MVFC) his senior season after posting a team-high-tying 84 tackles and a team-high three interceptions. He wears No. 36 for Tampa Bay.
