The Tampa Bay Buccaneers today activated long snapper Evan Deckers from Injured Reserve, and elevated wide receiver Marquez Callaway and linebacker Vi Jones from the practice squad for the club's Week 10 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers. It marks the second elevation of the season for both players.
The Buccaneers have also waived long snapper Zach Triner.
Callaway (6-2, 204) originally entered the league as a college free agent with the New Orleans Saints in April 2020. He has appeared in 46 career games between the Saints and the Buccaneers, making 17 starts and totaling 83 receptions for 1,069 yards and seven receiving touchdowns. He has also added 14 punt returns for 149 yards (10.6 avg.) and four kick returns for 94 yards (23.5 avg.). In addition to New Orleans, Callaway has spent time on the rosters or practice squads of the Denver Broncos, Las Vegas Raiders and Pittsburgh Steelers. The Warner Robbins, Georgia, native played collegiately at the University of Tennessee (2016-19), where he appeared in 42 career games and recorded 92 receptions for 1,646 yards and 13 receiving touchdowns while adding 40 punt returns for 543 yards (13.6 avg.) and three touchdowns. He wears No. 85 for Tampa Bay.
Deckers (6-3, 252) originally entered the league as a college free agent with the Buccaneers on May 12, 2023. Following the 2024 training camp, Deckers was named the team's long snapper and appeared in Weeks 1-3 for Tampa Bay this season. The Avon, Connecticut, native played collegiately at the University of Massachusetts (2018-21) and Duke University (2022), appearing in 53 career games. Serving as the primary long snapper, he assisted on a total of 218 kicks and 272 punts during his collegiate career. He wears No. 86 for Tampa Bay.
Jones (6-2, 225) entered the league as a college free agent with the Seattle Seahawks in 2022. Jones, who has been with Tampa Bay since signing to their practice squad during the 2023 season, has appeared in four career games between the Seahawks and Buccaneers, totaling one tackle. He played collegiately for two seasons at the University of Southern California (2017-18) and two seasons at North Carolina State University (2019-21), finishing with a combined 108 tackles, 9.0 sacks, four passes defensed and one forced fumble. He is the son of former NFL linebacker Robert Jones, and is the brother of former wide receiver Cayleb Jones and current wide receiver Zay Jones. He wears No. 53 for Tampa Bay.
