Shane Scannell enters his 10th season with the Buccaneers and his second as Director of Pro scouting. Prior to his current position, Scannell spent two seasons as the Assistant Director of Pro Scouting after five seasons as a Pro Scout. He spent the 2015 season as a Scouting Assistant.
Scannell is responsible for the advance scouting of upcoming opponents, evaluating players from all professional leagues, organizing player workouts, and evaluating free agents and college prospects.
In 2015, while working as one of the team's scouting assistants, Scannell helped in player evaluations, organizing, and executing free agent workouts and draft preparations.
Scannell played football collegiately at Wesleyan University and graduated with a bachelor's degree in sociology. A native of Mahwah, New Jersey, he played high school football at Don Bosco. He and his wife, Haley, currently reside in Tampa.
