Dave Hamilton enters his sixth season as the Buccaneers Director of Performance Science.
Hamilton is tasked with developing a sports science program that promotes athlete health and performance through the collaboration of strength and conditioning, medical treatment and nutrition. The program is designed to build a training environment that is conducive for optimal performance and sustained success for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He is also responsible for developing systems and processes that facilitate continued communication and dissemination of knowledge across all performance departments. Hamilton was also a member of the support staff for Tampa Bay's Super Bowl LV championship team.
Prior to his time in Tampa Bay, Hamilton worked as the assistant athletic director for applied health and performance science at Penn State University. During his stint with the Nittany Lions from 2016- 19, Hamilton established and led an applied health and performance science program with the goal of optimizing the performance of Penn State's 800 collegiate athletes.
Hamilton spent three-plus years as the director of performance science for USA Field Hockey (2013-16), in which he earned the Doc Councilman Award from the United States Olympic Committee for his innovative approach to programming and training while working with both men's and women's USA Olympic teams.
As the head of strength and conditioning for Great Britain and England's women's field hockey teams from 2009-13, Hamilton won a pair of Bronze medals at the 2010 World Cup and the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
He received his bachelor's degree in sports science from DeMontfort University in England and went on to earn his master's degree in exercise science from Edith Cowen University in Australia.
Dave and his wife Kelly have four daughters, Alya, Amber, Kooper, and Kenzie.
