Andres Trescastro enters his 26th season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and his 24th as the Director of Security. Trescastro handles all of the team's security investigations, working hand-in-hand with all local law enforcement agencies for the protection and safety of coaches, players and ownership group at the main offices, on the road and at all events.
Trescastro's current responsibilities with the team include providing security for the entire coaching staff and all players, assisting TSA officials in securing buses and charter flights, organizing police escorts and safeguarding hotel facilities while on the road and during training camp.
A veteran security director with more than 35 years of experience, Trescastro is a graduate of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, as well as the Tampa Police Academy and Hillsborough County Sheriff Reserve Force. Trescastro also owns extensive training in field investigation and foreign and domestic surveillance/advance protocol. He has led high-level security teams for several Presidential visits to the Tampa Bay Area, as well as visits from the Royal Family. Additionally, he served as the Security Director for both Buccaneers super bowl victories (XXXVII and LV).
Trescastro has worked to make Raymond James Stadium one of the safest venues in the NFL. He instituted the first protocol for TSA screening at team facilities prior to away game travel in 2000 and brought that same process – which is now used league-wide – to Raymond James Stadium, becoming the first NFL stadium to use it.
Prior to joining the Buccaneers, Trescastro worked at Beneficial Savings and Loan Corporation from 1983-97.
A native of Cuba, Trescastro currently resides in South Tampa. He has three children: daughter Elena, son, Christian and daughter, Danae all of whom attended Plant High School in Tampa before attending Florida State University.
