On Friday, the Bucs announced they acquired a 2014 6th round pick in exchange for WR Mike Williams. Here is a look at five of the best 6th round draft picks in Buccaneers' history.
Drafted in the 6th round (142nd overall) out of Iowa State - Washington started 52 games for the Buccaneers from 1984 to 1988, ending his time in Tampa with 17.5 sacks, one interception and four fumble recoveries.
Drafted in the 6th Round (145th overall) out of California - Ahanotu played 121 games for the Bucs, starting 109 of them. Over his nine years as a Buccaneer, he recorded 34.5 sacks, 4 forced fumbles and 333 tackles. In 1997, he finished second on the team, behind Hall of Famer Warren Sapp, with 10 sacks.
Drafted in the 6th round (183rd overall) out of Mississippi State - Wyms played for the Bucs from 2001 to 2006, appearing in 95 games and notching 14.5 sacks, 118 tackles and four forced fumbles. A member of the 2002 Super Bowl Championship team, Wyms finished the season with 5.5 sacks and added one more in the Super Bowl.
Drafted in the 6th round (182nd overall) out of Portland State - In his seven seasons as a Buccaneer, Hayward appeared in 107 regular season games and recorded 99 tackles and two fumble recoveries. He served as special teams captain for three seasons.
Drafted in the 6th Round (189th overall) out of University of Miami - James played eight games in his rookie season, starting three, compiling 295 rushing yards on 60 attempts. Against the Seattle Seahawks in Week Eight, James ran for 158 yards and through a highlight-reel 2-yard touchdown pass to Tom Crabtree.
