Head Coach Tony Dungy "Obviously I have been around Brad from our days together in Minnesota. We think he is a high caliber person and a great player. He was very interested in coming to the Bucs and that helped to make this happen. I am very excited that we have added another great player to our offensive arsenal."
LB Derrick Brooks "Anytime you sign a player of his caliber, you think you are getting better. Brad has to come in and win the job. Brad is a competitor. He is a good athlete, but most importantly he goes out to win and he has won a lot of games as a starter in the league."
C Jeff Christy "He is a great guy. His leadership is second to none after what he has been through in Minnesota and Washington. I think he is a consummate professional who does the little things off the field. He is just going to be a great addition to our team. This will give Shaun King the opportunity to learn from a great pro."
WR Jacquez Green "I never thought we would have the chance to sign Brad Johnson. There will be great competition at the quarterback position. Whoever prevails should do a good job for us this season. I have always been impressed with his accuracy. He always has good zip on the ball and always puts the ball on the money whoever he's played with, from Randy Moss to Cris Carter to Albert Connell."
WR Keyshawn Johnson "Obviously they feel they need to make a commitment at that position, to make that position stronger. That is not saying that Shaun (King) is completely out of the mix. Anytime you get a player of Brad's caliber, you increase your chances of winning a championship. It makes your team that much stronger on the field and on the depth chart."
S John Lynch "I am very excited to have Brad as a part of our organization. I have competed against him many times and I think we are getting one of the better quarterbacks in the league. This is a great day for the entire Buccaneer organization. I think in this league you can't have enough good quarterbacks on your roster, and now we have two accomplished starters on our club."
DT Warren Sapp "I would rather play with him than against him. He is one tough hombre. I talked to him (Johnson) tonight and I told him, 'Let's go win a championship.' He is somebody I will go to war with every Sunday."
