The Buccaneers are confirming that pass-rusher Trent Cole is visiting with the team on Thursday, March 5. Cole was released by the Eagles on March 4 after playing all 10 of his NFL seasons with the team.
Over the course of his career, Cole was named to the Pro Bowl twice – once in 2007 and again in 2009.
His 85.5 sacks are second on the Eagles' all-time list only to Hall-of-Famer Reggie White. He has 436 career tackles and has missed just five games in his professional career.
Cole made the transition from a 4-3 defensive end to a 3-4 outside linebacker in 2014 and performed, "better than expected," according to NJ.com's Mark Eckel.
Tampa Tribune writer Roy Cummings suggests that Cole may be interested in moving back to defensive end.
