For the second straight summer, training camp is coming to One Buccaneer Place. And that means, for the second straight summer, you are coming to One Buccaneer Place.
On Wednesday, the Buccaneers were pleased to announce their public schedule for the team's 2010 Training Camp, revealing a wide variety of options for fans eager to see their team in action. This year's streamlined public schedule is designed to make each open practice a more immersive and enjoyable experience for all attendees.
The 2010 Training Camp begins with a Saturday morning practice on July 31, which is free and open to all comers. Other highlights include Sunday and Thursday afternoon dates at One Buccaneer Place and a night practice at Raymond James Stadium on Saturday, August 7. The night practice comes on the heels of a similar event during last year's training camp which proved intensely popular; this year's evening at the stadium will also include a fireworks show as well as $1 hot dogs and soft drinks.
"Incorporating fan feedback and an organizational review of last year's inaugural Training Camp at One Buc Place, we have designed a more streamlined public schedule with more entertaining views, action, and access," said team spokesman Jonathan Grella. "This year's public offering provides the up-close, full-team, padded practices -- as well as more extensive autograph and photo opportunities -- that our fans most enjoy. We will closely monitor camp and gladly open additional dates, if needed."
The tighter schedule of open practices will allow the team to continue its necessary rotation of the three practice fields at One Buccaneer Place without compromising fan views. All open practices will be conducted on Field #3, next to the grandstands, providing enhanced views for all, including those with special needs.
Other enhancements to this year's camp will include extensive photo and autograph sessions, discounted concessions and a merchandise tent. And, as proved popular in 2009, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Cheerleaders and team mascot Captain Fear will make regular appearances.
As in 2009, a ticket is required for attendance to 2010 Training Camp. In order for fans to receive advanced complimentary tickets, they should register for the One Buc Club on Buccaneers.com. One Buc Club members will be emailed information on how to select tickets for the Training Camp dates and times they wish to attend. Free tickets will be available at One Buccaneer Place on the day of a Training Camp session, provided it is not sold out due to advance orders by One Buc Club members. Only One Buc Club members will be eligible to download and print their complimentary Training Camp tickets in advance.
All practice dates and times are subject to change, but you can find timely updates right here on Buccaneers.com. The Buccaneers' official website also features training camp guidelines, including parking information and a site map of One Buccaneer Place, that fans are encouraged to familiarize themselves with before attending a practice session.
