Iowa's Brandon Scherff, most analysts agree, is the top offensive lineman in this year's draft. He played tackle in college but is projected as a guard at the next level.
With Scherff off the tackle board, LSU's La'el Collins moves to the top spot.
"Brawling right tackle or guard prospect in the NFL who has had a level of success in hyper-competitive SEC West," NFL.com wrote in their scouting report. "Lacks athleticism to be a consistent left tackle, despite his snaps there in college. Collins plays with a mean streak that is evident in every game, and could come in and start right away in a power-running game as a guard."
Any number of players could be second off the board after Scherff, including Miami's Ereck Flowers and Stanford's Andrus Peat. *
Below are the top 5 offensive tackle prospects, according to NFL Media's Mike Mayock:*
- La'el Collins, LSU
- Ereck Flowers, Miami
- D.J. Humphries, Florida
- Andrus Peat, Stanford
T-5. T.J. Clemmings, Pittsburgh
T-5. Cedric Ogbuehi, Texas A&M
