The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New York Jets named their game-day inactives on Sunday at 11:30 a.m. ET, 90 minutes before kickoff of their Week 10 contest at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa. NFL teams are required to reduce their active rosters to 46 players for each regular-season game.
The most welcome development for the Buccaneers is the return of starting cornerback Brent Grimes, who had missed the previous two games due to a shoulder injury. However, this week's inactive list is a net push for the secondary because cornerback Robert McClain is inactive due to a hamstring injury he suffered in practice on Thursday.
As expected, quarterback Jameis Winston and William Gholston will not play, but the offensive line is intact after three of its starters – left tackle Donovan Smith, right tackle Demar Dotson and right guard J.R. Sweezy – were limited during the week of practice.
The Jets will be without one of the tailbacks in their three-man rotation, as veteran Matt Forte has been sidelined by a knee injury. However, defensive end Muhammad Wilkerson, who sat out practice all week and was questionable on the injury report, has been cleared to play.
