The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New Orleans Saints named their game-day inactives on Sunday at 2:55 p.m. ET, 90 minutes before kickoff of their Week 17 contest at Raymond James Stadium. NFL teams are required to reduce their active rosters to 46 players for each regular-season game.
Wide receiver DeSean Jackson will miss a second straight game due to an ankle injury. His replacement in the starting lineup last week, Chris Godwin, sustained his own ankle injury against the Panthers but made steady improvement during the most recent week of practice and has also been cleared to play.
Two additional Buccaneers will miss the season finale due to injuries. Defensive end Robert Ayers will be sidelined for the second week in a row by a shoulder injury, while linebacker Devante Bond is out due to the ankle injury he incurred in Charlotte. With Bond down, rookie linebacker Nigel Harris, a former University of South Florida standout, will be active for the first time with his hometown team.
The Saints will have to do some shuffling on their offensive line for the regular-season finale, as left tackle Terron Armstead will miss the game due to a thigh injury. When Armstead was out three weeks ago against Carolina, the Saints moved left guard Andrus Peat out to tackle and played Senio Kelemete at left guard. Armstead also missed the first four games of the season and the Saints started Peat at left tackle in two of them and rookie Ryan Ramczyk in the other two. Defensive end Trey Hendrickson, who has two sacks in his rookie season, will also miss his third straight game due to an ankle injury.
