(On his coaching points to the team after Sunday's win over Chicago)
"Yeah, for us it's finishing. Offensively, we ran the ball probably the best run-efficiency we've had until we got to the two-[yard line] and we allowed penetration a couple times on basic plays. Probably a little bit for us, we went no-huddle on one of them but it's still a base play and we should never allow that much penetration. Protection was outstanding. On the road, it's so different. We got out to that lead in Philly and kind of relaxed. I didn't think we really relaxed at all in this one, especially defensively or special teams. Offensively, it was just, man, don't miss field goals and score inside the two and it's a 50-point game."
(On the status of Cornerbacks Coach Kevin Ross and CB Richard Sherman's work as a 'coach' on Sunday)
"'Sherm' did a great job. 'Rock' (Ross) should be back hopefully Tuesday – Tuesday or Wednesday. A.Q. Shipley was also out with [COVID]. But, no, 'Sherm' did a great job all week. He's such a bright guy and he knows what we're doing now. He can pick up those little things. He did a great job during the game talking to those guys also."
(On if Sunday's game had the best execution in the run game so far this season)
"Oh yeah, I think our run efficiency was way over 70 percent until those plays down there in tight in the late third quarter. I thought the backs all picked the holes really well, all three of them, but our offensive lines and tight ends just did a heck of a job blocking that unit."
(On QB Tom Brady's efficiency in the passing game)
"Yeah, and we're doing such a great job of keeping him clean. They're not going to throw anything at him he hasn't seen. It's just whether or not he feels like he can fit it in there. There were a couple of balls I think he was real careful with in that one. But such a great job – those balls in the red zone were great throws. The one to Chris [Godwin] on the back shoulder and all three to Mike [Evans] were great balls, and Mike did a good job of beating double-coverage. But yeah, the efficiency in the passing game and offensively as a whole – I get a little upset, 38 points, a few years ago I would have been jumping up and down. It's nice to be able to get 38 and come in and coach hard."
(On if he has an update on the injury status of CB Jamel Dean)
"I do not have anything. Most of the guys are still coming in. I obviously gave them off until Wednesday. They'll filter in throughout the day and we'll know more if we need to get MRIs or not."
(On which injured players might be back for the next game)
"I would hope that 'Gronk' (Rob Gronkowski) could be ready to go, Lavonte [David] could be ready to go, maybe even 'Sherm' (Richard Sherman), we'll see. I'm trying to think who else might be…hopefully the guys that were injured yesterday can go."
(On the Buccaneers scoring more points in home games than road games)
"The road games, it's eliminating penalties and communication problems. That's where the penalties [come from]. This was our cleanest game. And it's so much easier offensively at home to communicate. When you're on the road – this one's going to be crazy. Halloween in New Orleans – second time I've had that one. It's always fun to look in the stands and see how crazy they can actually be down there. What a great crowd. Communication will be paramount this week."
(On if center Ryan Jensen gets enough attention for his level of play)
"I think Ryan, I think all those guys have all the respect they need from their peers. But yeah, the national media, for whatever reason – this offensive line is playing really, really well and knock on wood, we stay healthy."
(On maintaining a defensive identity with so many players in and out of the lineup)
"This has happened so many times. In Arizona we lost our offensive line twice, and our quarterbacks, all three quarterbacks. It's a little bit easier for defensive backs than tackles or quarterbacks. It's always the next man up, and if you don't believe in it, if you just say it, it won't happen. We truly believe it and we talk to these guys – when you're on this team, you have a role. Accept your role. At any point in time, that role's going to change; the level of play and expectation level doesn't change. If you've got a Buccaneer helmet on, there's a level of play that's all that will be accepted, and these guys have risen to the challenge. But again, I've got to give a lot of credit to Jason [Licht] and 'Spy' (John Spytek) and the guys bringing in players who've got résumés who are bright. You can teach bright guys, especially in the secondary, to keep it in front of you. And Todd [Bowles] has done a great job of doing that and still being multiple, not vanilla."
(On why center Robert Hainsey didn't play when a lot of reserves came in late in the game)
"We got the ball on the two-[yard-line]. In the middle of a drive, the last thing you're going to do is swap centers. We kept talking about it: 'Hey, if we get a first down and the clock stops, we'll swap them out.' But until you start snapping the ball to each other – and they snap together all the way time. We've got all the confidence in the world in Hainsey. It was just where we got it on the field, and we didn't substitute those guys. And we talked about it three times: 'Hey, let's get Hainsey in there.' 'Ah, let's just stay where we're at right now.'"
(On what he sees when he looks at the Saints)
"The first thing I see is great defense. Dennis Allen does a hell of a job and they've got really good players on defense. Then offensively, they're leaning so much on [Alvin] Kamara. After what we just did in the run game (on defense), it's a little scary because he's going to take it to the house. And he does a great job in the screen game. They just continue to get him the ball. And when he gets going, Jameis [Winston] has always been a really good play-action quarterback and he can put it down the field. [Marquez] Callaway and those guys that they have, they've got some weapons. So, we've got to stop the run. We can't go down and let Alvin Kamara run like [Khalil] Herbert did on us."
(On which player has stepped up the most)
"I think the entire secondary. This will probably be the eighth game where we've started a different [11] guys. Again, Devin White is doing a great job. His stats aren't what they [usually] are but he's doing a great job leading us and communicating. It was great getting Antoine [Winfield, Jr.] back in the secondary because he's a great communicator also. And again, with [the Saints], anything can happen at any time. Sean Payton is so innovative. We have to be on our toes all the time. But it starts and stops with our front seven stopping Alvin Kamara."
(On QB Tom Brady's interaction with a young cancer survivor on Sunday)
"I didn't get to see it until afterwards, and that makes the day. Winning is one thing, but when a young guy beats cancer and gets that [moment] with Tom going over and giving him his hat, the emotions – that's very, very special."
