HEAD COACH TODD BOWLES
(On the health status of players working back from injuries)
"They ran around some. I think they'll still be a game-time decision, but they're getting better."
(On if CB Carlton Davis III will be a game-time decision)
"He will be a game-time decision."
(On what he saw from Davis in practice this week)
"He's moving better. It's the first time I've seen him move in a while."
(On the importance of limiting the impact Saints WR Rashid Shaheed can have on Sunday)
"He's one of many. They've got a lot of guys with speed that can make plays, but he's shown up the last couple weeks, obviously. He got us last year on a deep ball, so it'll be important to try and keep him under wraps."
(On potentially going into the Bye Week at 3-1)
"It's always good to go into the Bye Week with a win. [If] we can finish the first quarter of the season 3-1, you'd be pleased overall. We've just got to try and win this game."
(On if the Bye Week is conveniently placed this year due to the team's current injury situation)
"It's not as bad right now. Initially, [you'd like it later], but right now, it'll be a good thing."
(On if he knows how he and the coaching staff will spend the Bye Week)
"Not as of yet. We have a couple different scenarios that we'll go over after the game."
(On if CB Derrek Pitts Jr., LB SirVocea Dennis and DL Calijah Kancey are ruled out for Sunday)
"Yes."
(On if CB Jamel Dean will be out on Sunday)
"Dean will probably be out."
(On if the next corner up is Dee Delaney)
"We've been rotating three of them there based on matchup and coverage. We may have to rotate three in the game, if possible, if he doesn't play."
(On his thoughts on how cornerbacks Zyon McCollum and Dee Delaney have played)
"McCollum has been fine. He's playing like a starter. You don't even notice him out there from a defensive coaching standpoint, which is a good thing. Delaney stepped in and made a big play. We can clean up some other things that he can get better at."
(On if practice squad CB Keenan Isaac could be eligible for elevation this week)
"He'd definitely be a candidate. We like what he's been doing the past few weeks."
(On the positive mindset of Offensive Coordinator Dave Canales)
"I think it makes the players calmer. You go out there and play with a positive attitude and outlook, even if something doesn't work. He's man enough to admit when he makes a mistake or not – I think that adds a lot of positives and trust with the player-coach relationship. It brings a joy to the coaching staff, having a guy around that you know you can trust and [will] be positive and even pick somebody else up if a coach is down."
