The National Football League will begin play in 2002 in a realigned landscape, with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers headed to the newly-formed NFC South. One of the expected benefits of the more geographically consistent alignment is greater regional rivalries and more opportunities for fans to attend road games.
Never will that be more true for the Buccaneers than in '02.
The National Football League announced the list of 2002 preseason opponents for each team on Tuesday, and the Buccaneers will not even cross state lines until the August slate is almost over. Preseason games against Miami and at Jacksonville will keep the Bucs in Florida for most of August.
Following is the list of opponents for the Buccaneers' 2002 preseason. Dates, times and broadcast information will not be formulated until next spring, but Tampa Bay's preseason slate will follow the order below.
