When the Tampa Bay Buccaneers moved training camp from Orlando back to team headquarters this past August, a number of annual traditions moved with it.

Along with the daily routines and team events that take place every summer, several of the organization's community events, which had become a staple at Disney's Wide World of Sports, were held at One Buccaneer Place. Among these programs was the Glazer Family Foundation's training camp grant presentation, which has provided an exciting environment for grant recipients to be rewarded for their public service.

This past August, representatives from six West Central Florida nonprofit organizations were invited to One Buccaneer Place to watch the Buccaneers' training camp. During practice, members of Alliance for Neighbors, Amen Outreach Ministry, Children's Home Society of Florida, Girl Scouts of Citrus Council, Harbor House of Central Florida and Voices for Children of Hillsborough County met with Glazer Family Foundation Co-President Darcie Glazer Kassewitz in the team's state-of-the-art press conference studio to be presented with commemorative plaques and grant checks totaling more than $25,000 for their efforts to empower local children and families.

Each year, the Glazer Family Foundation provides a total of $50,000 in grant money to nonprofit organizations throughout West Central Florida. Though the summer grant cycle has passed and the Buccaneers' regular season has begun, there is still time for nonprofit organizations from Central and West Central Florida to apply for one of the Foundation's grants.

Until October 1, local charities can submit for a fall grant from the Foundation to be used towards programs focused on the health, safety, education and recreation of disadvantaged youth. Interested organizations must complete the online submission by clicking here. If your organization is selected to submit a formal application, the Glazer Family Foundation will be in contact by October 15, 2009.

Fall grants will be awarded to recipient organizations in early December 2009.

The Glazer Family Foundation was founded in 1999 to assist charitable and educational causes in the West Central Florida region. In that 10-year span, hundreds of organizations throughout the area have made a positive impact in the community by means of the Foundation's programs.
