PFF Grades Winston, Buccaneers vs. Saints

Pro Football Focus graded Jameis Winston as the Bucs' top performer against the Saints.

Every week, Pro Football Focus breaks down every game played and every player who participated. The website had broken down the Bucs' game film against the Saints and believes that Jameis Winston was the Bucs' top performer in the team's victory over the Saints in Week 2.

Winston was graded +3.1 in Week 2, No. 7 among all quarterbacks. He trailed Ben Roethlisberger, Tom Brady, Teddy Bridgewater, Colin Kaepernick, Matt Ryan and Carson Palmer. Winston received a +2.3 grade when passing, No. 8 among quarterbacks, and was +0.7 while rushing, No. 3 among players at his position.

He also averaged 9.9 yards per attempt on Sunday, No. 5 among quarterbacks.

PFF had kicker Kyle Brindza as the team's second-best player with a +3.0 grade. Brindza, a rookie out of Notre Dame, was the No. 4 kicker in the league. He made four out of five field goals against the Saints and averaged 73.5 yards per kickoff, the fifth-most among kickers during Week 2.

Following Brindza was defensive tackle Gerald McCoy, who earned a +2.6 rating. He was the 12th-best defensive tackle in the league and No. 5 when pass-rushing. In 2014, McCoy was the best pass-rushing defensive tackle in the league, according to PFF.

Rounding out the top five were cornerback Johnthan Banks (+2.3) and defensive end Jacquies Smith (+1.8).

Banks was the fifth-best corner against the run while Smith recorded three sacks against New Orleans and currently leads the NFL with four.
