Don't get too comfortable without football now that the 2018 season is officially over (like that's even possible). The NFL just released the full list of the 338 participants invited to the 2019 NFL Scouting Combine, which takes place at the end of this month from February 26 to March 4.
The Combine will help prove NFL staffs right or wrong in all their evaluations of each player they've been working on for countless months. Prospects will go through a ringer of drills like the 40-yard dash, bench press, vertical jump and others to paint a picture of measurables that may or may not have any bearing on their success in the league. The real value here is the interviews. Teams will get the opportunity to speak to prospects one-on-one and really figure out if they're a fit for their organization based on the conversations.
The Buccaneers are picking fifth overall in the 2019 Draft, so they'll have a great pool of players to choose from with only four off the board before they're up. This year's draft class features a ton of depth at defensive line, both inside and at end. It's also a pretty good class for safety and running back as well. With the variety of needs the Bucs have and a new coaching staff in place, it'll be anyone's guess as to who the Bucs end up with come April 25-27.
For now, they'll focus on wrapping up evaluations at the Combine.
