The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced Thursday that the team's Monday Night Football home game versus the Miami Dolphins on November 11 has completely sold out (a full 100% of the general seats sold, as opposed to the 85% threshold to guarantee the game will be televised locally). The game, which kicks off at 8:40 p.m. ET, will be broadcast live on ESPN in front of a nationally-televised audience.
"We are excited that Buccaneer fans will enjoy a packed Raymond James Stadium for Monday Night Football on a night when we will also celebrate Warren Sapp's exceptional Hall of Fame career," said Buccaneers Chief Operating Officer Brian Ford.
As part of the night's halftime festivities, Sapp, the 2013 first-ballot Hall of Fame defensive tackle who helped lead the team to its first world championship in 2002, will be inducted into the club's Ring of Honor during a special ceremony. Additionally, Pro Football Hall of Fame President Steve Perry will be on hand to present Sapp with his Class of 2013 Hall of Fame ring. The team will also formally retire the number 99 in honor of Sapp's remarkable career contributions to the franchise. Sapp will join fellow Hall of Famer Lee Roy Selmon as the only two players in team history to have their numbers retired.
The Ring of Honor is prominently displayed at Raymond James Stadium and recognizes the individuals who have made the most significant contributions to the franchise throughout its history. Sapp follows Selmon (2009), John McKay (2010), Jimmie Giles (2011) and Paul Gruber (2012) as recipients of this prestigious honor.
