The Bucs have hit upon an intriguing and unique way to form an elite cheerleading squad, teaming with the renowned Wilhelmina Modeling Agency to run their 2004 auditions

In yet another indication that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are determined to upgrade every aspect of the organization, the team will take an unprecedented approach to selecting its cheerleading squad in 2004.

The Buccaneers have announced a unique partnership with the Wilhelmina Modeling Agency, teaming up with the world-renowned talent outfit to conduct the search and selection of the 2004 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Cheerleaders. The goal is to produce the most appealing squad in the NFL.

This partnership marks the first of its kind in the NFL. Wilhelmina agents will be selecting the squad, which entertains the crowds at all Buccaneers home games and also makes routine appearances at community and corporate functions.

"We are thrilled about our new alliance with Wilhelmina Models," said Mike Newquist, Senior Director of Business Administration. "In every area of our organization we look to be the best and through our partnership with Wilhelmina, we will accomplish that goal for our cheerleading squad. Our intention is to have the most beautiful, exciting and spirited cheerleaders in the NFL. Wilhelmina's expertise brings enormous credibility to our talent search."

Tryouts begin on May 15, with optional pre-audition classes running on May 10, 11 and 12. Women auditioning must be 18 years or older by July 1, 2004 and must have a high school diploma or GED. No previous dance or cheerleading experience is required. Tryouts will be held at the University of South Florida Sun Dome Corral.
