Buccaneers defensive tackle Gerald McCoy was named to the 2017 ProFootballFocus First Quarter All-Pro team on Tuesday. Despite playing one less game due to the team's Week One contest against the Miami Dolphins being moved to Week 11, McCoy is still putting up big enough numbers to earn him the First-Team Defensive Interior spot with a ProFootballFocus grade of 92.4.
The defensive tackle ranks eighth in pass-rush productivity, taking down the quarterback six times so far this season and hurrying him another ten, according to the article on ProFootballFocus. McCoy anchors a Bucs defense that ranks fourth in the league against the run, allowing just 349 yards on 104 rushing attempts and only two rushing touchdowns in 2017.
McCoy made the grade over the likes of Dolphins DT Ndamukong Suh, who was Second-Team Defensive Interior, and Bengals DT Geno Atkins who nabbed an Honorable Mention.
