MyMacDill.com, sponsored by the Tampa Bay Defense Alliance, is celebrating MacDill Air Force Base's birthday from April to September. The base was established in the late 1930s and flew its first flight in 1941.
In celebrating their birthday, MyMacDill.com is hoping to gather as many stories as possible from people in the Tampa community – from active duty members and veterans to residents of the Tampa Bay area.
Those interested in sharing a story are encouraged to visit MyMacDill.com or interact via social media at #MyMacDill.
"By visiting MyMacDill.com and sharing your stories, photos and videos, you will officially be 'Taking the Oath' and sharing your pride and unique connection to our great base," MyMacDill.com wrote. "Even if you don't think you have a direct connection to the base or a story to share, we are sure that with a little thought you will discover that you have an indirect connection. You can also show your support with a MyMacDill Salute when visiting one of our amazing Tampa Bay iconic area attractions and meeting our MyMacDill volunteer corps."
Buccaneers wide receiver Vincent Jackson shared his MacDill story above. What's yours?
