Former Buccaneer and current San Francisco 49ers General Manager John Lynch comes to town on the heels being named a semifinalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame for the second consecutive year. He may be a member of the opposition now, but Bucs fans remember "The Closer" fondly. Both Lynch and Barber were with the team for their 2002 Super Bowl run and are forever immortalized in Buccaneers lore because of it.

The current Buccaneers sit at a record of 3-7 and are desperately searching for a win. They'll have the opportunity at home against a 2-8 49er team, which is without what was supposed to be their franchise quarterback in Jimmy Garappolo. Quarterback Nick Mullens has taken over for the injured Jimmy G, and while Mullens may be a relatively unknown name in the NFL, he's quite familiar with one Buccaneers' offensive coordinator. Mullens was the quarterback at Southern Miss while Coach Todd Monken was the head coach.

It's the running backs though that Tampa Bay will have to worry about. San Francisco brings to town its third-ranked rushing offense, averaging 133.6 yards per game behind running back Matt Breida, who has 632 yards on the ground this season, good for tenth in the league. Of course, the 49ers will still have to grapple with the Bucs' top-ranked passing offense. San Francisco ranks 15th in passing defense, giving up an average of 242.0 yards per game through the air.
