The Tampa Bay area, like many parts of Florida has felt the devastating effects of two destructive storms in the span of 18 days. With Hurricane Milton compounding the damage caused by Hurricane Helene, the Glazer family has increased its efforts to help those impacted by the storms.
The owners of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are donating an additional $1 million to support local nonprofit organizations helping those impacted by Hurricane Milton. This is in addition to the $1 million the Glazer familly donated to local agencies in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene
In making the added donation, the Glazer family stated the following:
"The Tampa Bay region has experienced traumatic hardships caused by recent Hurricanes Milton and Helene and at times such as these, our community comes together to provide the support and resources that are desperately needed. As we continue the tireless work of recovering from the devastation that so many have experienced, we are committed to supporting the local agencies that are providing crucial services to our neighbors in need. Despite the difficulties of recent weeks, our resilient Tampa Bay community will persevere and thrive once again."
Buccaneers Head Coach Todd Bowles experienced the support of the Glazer family last week when the team made an impromptu early trip to New Orleans to evade Milton and continue their preparations for the game against the Saints. That included a traveling party of more than 300 people as many players and coaches brought their families and pets with them on the six-day trip. Bowles knows that the Glazer family is dedicated to supporting the people in the Bay area the same way they do for their own team members.
"They've been outstanding," said Bowles. "You can see it, how they help out the community in all facets, whether it's a hurricane or not. With Milton and Helene they've been doing an outstanding job of getting the team and their families and their pets everywhere, getting them out of town, and just helping out in the community overall. They've been stellar in helping out and keeping a low profile. I don't think they get near as much credit for what they do for this city, and I think [they are] outstanding."
