Drafted in 1988 with the fourth overall selection, Gruber started at left tackle for the opening game that season, and nearly every single game for the next 12 years.
Gruber anchored the offensive line through 183 NFL starts, the most of any Buccaneer offensive player of all-time and the third most in team history behind ironmen Ronde Barber and Derrick Brooks.
On October 14, 2012, Gruber became the fourth person inducted into the Ring of Honor at Raymond James Stadium, a well-earned honor after being an indispensible and completely dependable rock for a franchise that struggled for many years to establish itself. It is that heart and that streak that made him such a beloved player in Tampa Bay and put him at #16 on our list.
