On Wednesday night, a third Buccaneer was named to the NFL Network's annual top 100 players list. The list, which aims to select the top 100 players in the league, is decided solely by current players.
Coming in at No. 33 is running back Doug Martin. He joins linebacker Lavonte David and defensive tackle Gerald McCoy, who were ranked No. 53 and 63, respectively.
This past season, Martin was one of the most successful runners in the NFL. He picked up 1,402 yards, which were second in the league to Minnesota's Adrian Peterson. Martin also found the end zone seven times in 2015.
This past offseason, Martin signed a five-year contract with the Buccaneers, ensuring that he will remain with the team through 2020. Should he continue to perform at the level he did for his first four seasons, Martin could find himself as the Buccaneers' leading rusher by the time that contract is over. He currently has 3,806 yards, which is No. 4 on the Bucs' all-time list. He trails Warrick Dunn (4,986 yards), Mike Alstott (5,088) and James Wilder (5,987).
Martin is currently the Bucs' all-time leader in rushing yards per game with 77. He was also selected as the "most elusive" running back in the league in 2015 by Pro Football Focus.
