TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - Carolina rookie Cam Newton has run for two touchdowns against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, tying the NFL single-season record for rushing TDs by a quarterback.

The 2010 Heisman Trophy winner scored his 11th and 12th TDs of the season on a pair 1-yard runs, the second giving the Panthers a 31-12 lead in the third quarter.

Steve Grogan set the league mark with 12 in 1976.
