WR Darnell McDonald caught nine passes as a rookie
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced on Friday that they have waived second-year WR Darnell McDonald. The Bucs' roster stands at 87 players after the move.
McDonald was originally drafted by Tampa Bay in the seventh round in 1999, and he appeared in eight games as a rookie, making nine catches for 96 yards and one touchdown.
"We didn't feel like he was going to have an opportunity to make the team, and this was the best time to do it," said Buccaneers Head Coach Tony Dungy of the transaction.
